Job summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Commissioning Assistant Project Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will support the Commissioning Manager in the planning, execution, and completion of commissioning projects, ensuring that all systems meet performance specifications and client expectations. You will be instrumental in coordinating activities, managing documentation, and ensuring smooth project delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Commissioning Manager in developing and managing commissioning schedules, checklists, and resources

  • Coordinate and track commissioning activities, including pre-functional and functional testing

  • Develop and maintain detailed commissioning documentation, including test procedures, reports, and checklists

  • Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and clients to resolve technical issues and ensure project progress

  • Conduct site inspections and verify system installations and performance

  • Manage and track project deliverables, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards

  • Assist in the development and implementation of commissioning plans and procedures

  • Maintain accurate project records and provide regular progress reports to the Commissioning Manager

  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in commissioning, construction, or project management

  • Strong understanding of building systems, HVAC, electrical, and control systems

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project)

  • Proficient in Google Workspace Suite (gDoc, gSheet, gSlides)

  • Valid driver's license

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

  • May require periods of travel and/or relocation

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience with building automation systems (BAS) or power monitoring systems (PMS)

  • Experience with MEP equipment start-up

  • Familiarity with LEED or other green building standards

  • Experience with project management software (e.g., Procore, ACC/BIM, PlanGrid)
